Emma Azalia Hackley is the fourth great-grandmother of Dr. Jeremiah C. Hackley. She is the inventor of folk music and was a music teacher to Marion Anderson and Cab Calloway. It is said that he inherited her musical talent and gift. The incredible story of her life lives on through the work and mission of Hackley Global. In the early 1900s, she began schooling and embarked on global travels to teach and sing. Her legacy has been extensively studied by universities.
