National Rural Technology Initiative - H&H vs. Technology Deserts
TECHNOLOGY DESERTS & THE HUMAN CONDITION
Technology Desert is a term created and researched by Dr. Jeremiah C. Hackley in 2020, meaning any location where a population is suffering from a lack of access and engagement to the social and economic benefits of technology available to metropolitan and corporate preference in service.
CLASSISM & THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIVIDE IN TECHNOLOGY
Technology Deserts suffer from great socio-economic injustices. The lack of broadband, training, and corporate engagement in technology leads to the ills and woes of classism and impoverished living. Access and opportunities for education, networking, small business, and pathways out of severe poverty exists in technology deserts.
