What an intersection this Hope Global Forum has been for me. This year has been one of the most significant years of my life. In a great part due to the influence of this man of God.
I must publicly acknowledge and thank this quintessential culture creator. Bishop Thomas Dexter Jakes has been transformative, caring, and authentic to the context of those whom he serves, especially my family and myself. Beyond extraordinary preaching and pulpiteering, he is ingeniously contributing to the work of liberation, building in community, and sustainable socio-economic justice.
With him, it’s not just a theory or a philosophy. It’s a daily reality of impactful decision making with the grace and context to consider everyone at the table. I am deeply drawn the importance and emphasis he puts on being intentional with technology. It is a true calling for me. Prior to our global change, he was already involved in innovating how we reach those whom we are called to serve. I’ve paid attention to that particular contribution since my teens. Here in the fullness of time, he has simply evolved into a reality that my teen mind only had glimpses of.
From West Virginia, to Pnuema Life, to Dallas, and many other critical intersections, I’ve learned to pay closer attention, heed his patterns, and acknowledge why my entire household, including the youngest, deeply respects and acknowledges him.
Thanks for your support through Potters House International Pastor's Alliance. He doesn’t just talk. He also puts forth a full effort in every aspect of transcending generations with relevant and reachable Kingdom of God Culture for all. That’s enough for me. It only gets better from here, Bishop T.D. Jakes.
